Amy Klobuchar’s first big Georgia trip is to fundraiser with former Clinton ambassador who now works for Canadian corporations, Dentons mega lobbying firm

Minnesota Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar’s first trip to Atlanta, Georgia will be capped with a fundraiser at the home of Gordon Giffin, the former U.S. Ambassador to Canada.

Giffin is a former U.S. Ambassador to Canada, and like many in the Clinton administration, he passed through the revolving door and is today a Global Vice Chair at the mega law and lobbying firm Dentons.  Working as a U.S. diplomat, you gain a lot of contacts that can later be leveraged into business, and that’s exactly what he did. As his firm bio page notes, he serves on the following boards:

  • Canadian-American Business Council, Advisory Board
  • Canadian National Railway Company, Board of Directors
  • Canadian Natural Resources Limited, Board of Directors
  • McLarty Global, Board of Advisors
  • TransAlta Corporation, Board of Directors
